Check in any time from 14:00. Check out any time up to 11:00. On weekdays during normal hours a member of the team meets you, hands over the van and walks you through how everything works.
At weekends and for late arrivals it is self check-in. We send you everything you need in advance: where the van is, how to get in, a walkthrough video and our phone number. There is no counter to reach before it closes, so a flight landing at 23:40 is not a problem.

Camper rental in Lisbon. Which vans are available depends on your dates and the base you choose, and rates can vary between locations. Four sleep two, the Bohemian sleeps three, and all of them are small enough to park in an ordinary space and low enough for the two metre barriers at the coast.

Why Lisbon
Lisbon puts the whole middle of the country within a morning’s drive. Sintra is about 50 minutes, the Arrábida coast 40, Ericeira and the surf an hour, Óbidos an hour, Nazaré an hour and twenty. Évora and the Alentejo plains are an hour east, and the Algarve is a straight two and a half hours down the A2 if you want to finish in the sun.
Finish in the sun? The Algarve is 2 h 30 down the A2. Drive one way to Faro for €300.

Two directions work well from here: north up the coast to Ericeira, Peniche and Nazaré, or south to Arrábida, Comporta and the Alentejo. Both start within the first hour.

We say Montijo rather than Lisbon on purpose. You should know about the river before you plan your first day, not after you land.
Yes, in both directions, subject to availability. The one-way fee is €300. It covers bringing the van back to its home base.
If you have ten days or more it is worth it: you drive the country once instead of doubling back, and you finish where you actually want to finish.
It is the more varied of our two bases. Within an hour you can be in a UNESCO forest at Sintra, on a World Surfing Reserve at Ericeira, or on the clear water of the Arrábida coast. Add a city day before you leave and you have three quite different things in the first 48 hours.
Faro is the better choice if you mainly want beaches and dependable sun. Lisbon is the better choice if you want range.
There are several camper-friendly areas along the coast and in the surrounding regions. Portugal has clear regulations regarding overnight stays, and we’re happy to provide guidance before your trip.
You’ll need a valid driving licence, identification (passport or ID card) and a credit card for the security deposit. Full details will be provided in your booking confirmation.

Most rental depots around Lisbon shut around 18:00, so this is the practical difference. Check-ins from 17:30 carry a €20 late check-in fee, and the booking form will not accept a pick-up later than 23:45.
