Pick Up Your Campervan in Faro or Lisbon

Same vans, same kit, same small team at both. What changes is where your first day goes. You can also start in one city and finish in the other for €300.

Two starting points, two very different trips

Faro puts you on the Algarve coast within minutes: beaches, Benagil, Sagres and the wild west coast. Lisbon opens up Sintra, Ericeira, Nazaré and the north, and works well if you want a city day before you start driving.

Most people choose on flights. If you can land at either, pick Faro for beaches and Lisbon for variety.

Faro, Algarve

Praia de Faro seen from the dunes, with the beach road behind

Ten minutes from the airport and you are on the coast. The Ria Formosa is on the doorstep, Benagil and Lagos are an hour west, Sagres and the Costa Vicentina about two. This is the warmest, driest corner of the country and the base most people choose.

  • 2 km from Faro Airport, about 5 minutes, around €6 by taxi
  • Rua Aquilino Ribeiro 124, 8005-177 Faro
  • Beaches within 15 minutes of collecting the keys
  • Best for sun, sand and a coast-only trip

Lisbon

Empty Atlantic beach on the Alentejo coast, cliffs on both sides

Our Lisbon base is at Montijo, across the Tagus from the city, about 30 minutes from the airport. Sintra, Ericeira and Nazaré make an easy first day, and the Alentejo coast is a straight run south if you would rather chase empty beaches.

  • About 30 minutes from Lisbon Airport, €20 to €25 by taxi
  • Parque Comércio e Indústria, Armazém 11, EN Estrada do Pau Queimado 5, 2870-100 Montijo
  • Sintra and the surf coast on day one
  • Best for variety: city, surf and countryside in one trip

Start in one city, finish in the other

Pick up in Faro and drop off in Lisbon, or the other way round. It costs €300, which covers driving the van back to its home base.

On a trip of ten days or more it usually pays for itself. You drive the country once instead of going back the way you came, and you finish where you want to finish.

Your Road Trip in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1. Book online. Pick your dates and your pick-up point, choose a van and confirm with a 30% deposit. The price you see is the price you pay.

Step 2. Collect the van. Check-in is any time from 14:00. In Faro, and on weekdays in Lisbon, one of us hands the van over and walks you through it. At weekends and for late arrivals Lisbon is self check-in, so a flight landing at 23:40 is not a problem. Either way you leave knowing how the bed, kitchen, fridge, water and gas work, with our number in your phone.

Step 3. Go. The vans are small enough for village streets and beach car parks, and equipped enough that you do not need a campsite every night. Drop the van back any time up to 11:00 on your last day.

Faro or Lisbon: common questions

On a trip of ten days or more it usually pays for itself: you drive the country once instead of doubling back, and you finish where you actually want to finish.

Faro: we are 2 km from the terminal, roughly 5 minutes and about €6 by taxi, Bolt or Uber. Lisbon: about 30 minutes from the airport across the Vasco da Gama bridge, usually €20 to €25.

There is no free airport transfer. If you would rather we met you at Faro Airport instead of at the base, that can be arranged for €49.

Check-in is any time from 14:00 on the day your rental starts, and check-out any time up to 11:00 on the day it ends. That applies at both bases. Check-ins from 17:30 carry a €20 late check-in fee.

One quirk of the booking form: the latest pick-up time it will accept is 23:45 and the earliest return is 04:00. If your flight falls outside that, book the nearest slot and message us and we will sort it.

Yes. Same models, same equipment, same rates, same team. Only availability differs, because a van booked out of Faro is not in Lisbon that week. Check the live calendar for your dates before you decide.

If the trip is about beaches and reliable sun, start in Faro. If you want a mix (a city day, surf on the west coast, hills and vineyards), start in Lisbon. If you have ten days or more, do one and end at the other: one-way rentals run in both directions for a €300 fee.
